Meeting was called to order at 19:30pm
- Prospective New members
We welcomed Mike and Dharmesh to the meeting and shared some information about Rotary International and our club, projects and activities.
- Our Fundraiser – 26th Sept, Cocktails for Compassion
The funds from our event will be for Compassionate Hope, who care for victims of online child sex trafficking, and our plan is to help them build a sari sari store where they can sell the vegetables they grow.
Tickets: We have 60 committed ticket sales so far from board members. Gabriel’s company is going to donate 25k and Claire’s company another 10k. We have a digital poster to use for marketing. Pratik explained the ticket payment process. There will be a QR code to pay and one sent when you buy a ticket for access to the event. Payment will be via our website and there will be a link to use to get to the payment page.
Rod suggested there should be a way to donate through the website. Dharmesh offered to help with setting that up. It was suggested we get PayPal or similar so that people can easily make donations from anywhere in the world.
Payment deadline: We need to have payments in as far as possible by Sept 19.
The event:
Catering is being arranged, and we agreed we would provide some pica pica for the swearing in ceremony.
The group went with Rod’s suggestion of a DJ for the music.
For the raffle, tickets will be sold on the night. We have offers of prizes from a resort in La Union for a 2 night stay, the Grand Hyatt, chocolate crinkle cookies from ADB, bottles from TSL, and members and prospective members offered to ask their companies to donate small prizes.
A sponsorship letter will be sent via the WhatsApp group for members to use.
Rod suggested that include the donators of prizes as sponsors for the event.
