Minutes:

  1. Call to Order
    Meeting was called to order at 19:45pm
  2. New members
    We have 5 new members. We need to update the members roster.
  3. Induction of new members and fundraising
    Our fundraising will be on Sept 26, which Rich will confirm with the Spirit Library, and will include the ceremony for inducting new members. Aim is for each member to sell 5 tickets each, at P2500 per ticket. The bar has offered us punchbowl cocktails at a cost of P100k consumables. Richard will see if we can negotiate and discuss the menu with the bar. We we also run a raffle on the night to raise more during the event.

Planning to have another fund raiser one in BGC later in the year. Rod offered to investigate other venues in BGC for this. Gabriel will also investigate possibilities with the manager of the Hyatt.
 

  1. Update on Compassionate Hope
    We visited Compassionate Hope in June. We want to help out with their plans for a sari sari store. They need P250k. What we raise on Sept 26 will be for that.
  2. Compliance with Rotary International and District
    The president has requested help from someone in the governor’s office with monthly reporting. We also have had someone that has asked for an internship. The governor wants all the clubs to be on a good standing so we would like to keep up to date with the reporting. Cora will talk to the candidate intern to see if they have the skills would like to do the reporting for us among other tasks. We need to check that we can offer them the development they need.
  3. Service projects
    We need to think of a legacy project we can do for this year that can uplift people in the future. There is also climate change as a main area for projects. This will be something to discuss in our next meeting.
    We need to spend the global grant this year, which is for the interactive white boards project.
  4. Payment of club dues
    Cora will send out a notice for payment of membership dues.
  5. Adjournment
    Meeting adjourned at 20:53pm. Next meeting will be August 23, 2022.
